Jordan Brokken
Personnel Manager, Bassoonist
Jordan Brokken is a freelance bassoonist originally from Houston, Texas. He was appointed Principal Bassoon of the Charleston Symphony in 2022. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, he lived in Los Angeles. Some highlights from his time there include performing as guest principal bassoon with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and San Bernardino Symphony, performances with the Los Angeles Ballet, and recording on various film and television scores. Jordan is also a founding member of the conductorless chamber orchestra Kaleidoscope. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the Colburn Conservatory where he studied with Richard Beene. While at Colburn, he was a featured soloist with the Colburn Zipper Orchestra and performed on Colburn Chamber Music Society concerts with members of the London Symphony Orchestra and pianist Orli Shaham. In the summer, he has been a fellow at the Aspen and Tanglewood Music Festivals.
